Orlando Driveway Pressure Washing

Orlando Driveway Pressure Washing

I was contacted by a nearby Orlando homeowner who was inquiring about having her concrete driveway cleaned. She had some black spots of algae from the downspouts and it have not been cleaned in over a year. In previous years, they had mentioned doing it themselves over and over throughout the year, yet the black spots keep coming back each time. Sometimes they would perform a driveway washing every other month, especially in the areas with poor drainage. They even “upgraded” to a gasoline powered machine to see if that helped. In reality, the gasoline machine created a lot more pressure and the customer had hoped it would make the difference they were looking for.

In my blog located at:

I mention how using too much pressure can hurt concrete and ruin its appearance. Not only that, it can degrade the surface and ruin its structural integrity overtime. I informed the customer has pressure alone doesn't kill algae. You need to use a cleaning solution like I do, in order to ensure longer lasting results. In addition to mitigating damage to concrete, I also pre-wet the edge of the grass all along where I was cleaning. This does two things. If it’s been a hot day, giving the grass a ‘drink’ will allow you a little more leeway before risking overspray with the cleaning solution. The other thing it allows it creates a barrier that will dilute the runoff that makes it off of the concrete. This is pretty basic stuff and in reality, it is a simple thing I do to show my attention to detail. Nothing can sour a relationship with your professional pressure washer than dead grass and flowers.

As is my standard procedure, I started the driveway wash with a normal pretreat solution, twice in the blacker areas, then proceeded to surface clean the driveway, sidewalk and pathway to front door using minimal pressure. After post treatment was completed, I rolled up my hoses and allowed the treatment solution to dwell and penetrate all the pores of the concrete. Another job well done, another customer satisfied.
