House Washing in Orlando, Florida

This was a special case for Castle Wash. I was contacted by a real estate agency and they had received several other quotes. The situation was that photos and such were quickly approaching for this property as it was being sold. The owner was advanced in age and everything was being handled by her daughter. Needless to say, she was very busy!

This is where Castle Wash was happy to help. I had an open spot open for the next day and showed up right on time. This home had (apparently) never been washed. There were layers of green, orange and black, all along the bottom of this homes’ walls. The walls had patches of green growth strewn across them.

Over the phone, the customer requested the home be “pressure washed.” I explained to her that the ideal option for this home was to soft wash it. After the usual “what’s that?!” I explained that it was a much gentler process than spraying high pressure at a close distance. High pressure water against the deteriorated paint would cause further damage and even rip chunks of loose paint off the house. Of course, this would look worse and cause a serious eyesore for the listing photos!

I used industry standard soft washing techniques. I applied a few coats of my treatment solution and allowed it to dwell until the algae started to fade away. This solution I use contains powerful surfactants that allow it to stay wet longer, penetrate deeper and better encapsulate dirt and soil. This aids in the rinsing process. After being diluted, the mixture will dissipate and become inert. This step is crucial to preventing damage to plants and grass due to runoff from the cleaning process.

After the home was rinsed, several areas of damage began to come forth. These areas had exposed concrete where the paint failed and peeled away years ago. I avoided spraying these areas directly with too much water, so as not to force water into the area. Doing so could have caused water to make its way under the paint and create bubbles. I advised the customer that the home was as clean as it could be. Now that all the algae had been destroyed, it could be repainted. The customer also reinforced my notion that the home had never been washed. This was a textbook example of why annual house washes will prolong the life of your homes paint, and also keep it vibrant.
